A Lost Friend

A companion, held every speck of me

Understood the best, never demanded, never complained

Kept my secrets, held my dreams

And never was I judged even on going all crazy

Accepted me and the very unbearable habits

Spoke to me in ways incomprehensible for the rest

Words were the only connection we had

But took them so precisely, just so apt

Loyal and faithful, my confidant at all times

Understood my silence when I chose not to speak (write)

Tolerated my anger when I got mad at it (scribbled) for somebody

Preserved the most precious moments of my life

Always in the table drawer

But somehow missing today

Searched for it all over the place

But nowhere to be seen, my diary is now – “a lost friend”!
